Sean D. Lair has worked at DeValk, Power, Lair & Warner, P.C. since shortly after his admission to practice law in New York State in 2004. Mr. Lair acquired his Bachelor Degree from Saint Bonaventure University in 1999 and his Law Degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2003.

Presently, Mr. Lair represents clients in the areas of Divorce, Family Law, Criminal Defense, DWI, Vehicle & Traffic tickets, Wills, Estates and Real Estate Closings

Mr. Lair’s Family Court and Divorce practice covers the following counties: Wayne, Monroe, Ontario, Seneca, Cayuga and Yates. In addition, he regularly appears Justice Courts throughout the Finger Lakes Region, Wayne County and the Greater Rochester Area in defense of criminal prosecutions, including DWI’s and Vehicle and Traffic tickets. Mr. Lair also represents buyers and sellers in residential closings throughout Western New York.

Stephen R. Warner, Mediator

Stephen Warner is one of the two founding partners in Mediation First.  He has worked extensively in the area of divorce litigation since 2007 and after experiencing his own divorce felt there must be a less confrontational way to move through the process.  His own first-hand experience, litigation experience and acting as an Attorney for Children gives him the ability to see all sides of a divorce or separation, including that of the children.

The effect on children of a divorce can not be overstated.  Steve has the experiences of other children and that of his own children from which to assist divorcing couples navigate the difficult decisions that lie ahead. His background enables him to have a greater ability to empathize with participants in the mediation process and effectively assist each participant in coming to a mutually beneficial resolution.

He has worked  at DeValk, Power, Lair, and Warner, P.C. since 2011.  Steve has worked as an assistant district attorney in Wayne County He additionally takes on cases for those clients who are less fortunate than others.

Mediation Training

Training and experience are key components that every mediator needs.  Steve is trained by Sequoia Stadler in an extensive program which enables him to communicate with participants in a way that helps transform the process of conflict resolution into an experience where all parties involved come out feeling like their needs and wishes have been met and heard.
